About Me...

Hello, my name is Karen Harwood and I have been creating websites and studying Multimedia Design and Development since 1997.

I started out working for Diagnostic Ultrasound, a multi-million dollar medical firm located in Bothell WA., developing in-house web-based training and customer/technical service intranet websites. I have also designed and developed an online Help System to assist in technical support for the company's newest product line.

During my years developing websites and Help systems, I have found one underlying theme to be of the highest importance - Usability. You can put all the information people need up on a Web site, but people won't use the site unless the site is usable. And that's how I got involved with usability and web design.

In the summer of 2003 I branched out on my own to start my own business. Today my business continues to grow. It is my goal to help small businesses achieve success in their internet marketing efforts by providing them with quality information and services through Altered Impressions.

• Lake Washington Technical College: Completed 2 year Electronic Technician Certificate program and participated in the Multimedia Design and Development program
