Applying a template to a new page
You can use a template to create a new page, and add your content
to the editable regions in the template.

2) Select a template from the
Templates scroll list.
3) Click Select.
4) To add custom text to the new
document, click an editable region and enter your custom material.
You can add text, images, tables, buttons, and other objects
to editable regions. See "Adding text and inserting objects" in

6) To add the new page in your
site, create a link to the page from an existing page.
Applying a template to an existing page
To reformat a page according to a template, apply the template to
an existing page. Dreamweaver places existing content into appropriate
sections in the template. If the page contains content that does
not fit into the template, Dreamweaver asks you to designate a section
for the content.
To apply a template to a document:
1) In Dreamweaver, open a document.
2) Choose Window > Templates.
3) In the Templates palette, select
a template.
4) Click Apply.
5) If the Choose Editable Region
for Orphaned Content dialog box appears, select an editable region
in the template to place all of the orphaned content in that
region. You can rearrange the placement of objects in editable
regions when editing the page, if necessary.
6) Click OK.
7) To edit text on the page, click
an editable region and enter new text.
8) Save the file.
